Update Zambia | Scholarship Initiative

We recently enrolled 40 new students into one of the local schools in Zambia, and now support 321 orphaned children via our Scholarship Initiative in Zambia. To include DR Congo and Kenya, there are now 574 orphaned children continuing in their education thanks to you. These are children that would lack the resources needed to attend school without your assistance. Well done!

GO! Kenya Team | Great Commandment Workshop

The Great Commandment Workshop concept has always meant to be indigenous, self-propagating, & self-supporting within the local community. We are to be working with our GO! Kenya Team, Pastors Isaiah & Benson, as we hold our first one-day workshop in Nairobi on February 26th. Not only are these excited about mobilizing the local church to serve orphans, but they are well connected within their respective communities that will insure a quick start for this new initiative.

Pure Religion

Faith Anastasia, our fourth child, was born into the world on May 4, 2005. As prepared as we thought we were after experiencing the healthy births of our first three, our experience with Faith was powerful and life-altering—though our time with her was inexplicably short. Ten fingers, ten toes, a head of fuzzy peach hair—our little miracle was perfect in every way, an angel on earth for the fifteen days we shared with her…

James Bol Akook is a 15-year-old boy who attends Adoor Primary School in South Sudan.

James was born into an extremely poor family that could not provide daily meals. He is from the village of Adoor and lives with his four siblings, and there wasn't enough food to go around. James was blessed to attend Adoor Primary School where he was admitted to our Nutrition Initiative based on his dire circumstances. Today, there are thousands of children just like James, but they are hungry and have no access to nutrition in their communities.

If there is Good that we Ought to Do?

I couldn’t help but write down an experience that I had at church this weekend, in hopes that some of you may be blessed by it. We were at the Assumption Cathedral in Denver on Sunday and the service was beautiful and solemn. The sights and sounds took me to a different time and place. It was good.

After church, I hurried over to ‘coffee hour.’ I recognized one of the ladies of the church; she is a friend of the family, and a very nice person. As I went to say hello, I stopped myself.

South Sudan Schools | Big Trees

I was honored to visit South Sudan in 2019 and had the opportunity to visit two of the three schools that we support today within our Nutrition Initiative. Things have improved since this time with the additions of kitchens, storerooms, and latrines, but there is much yet to be done.

For most students at these schools -they attend class under the big trees. Check out the enclosed to get an up-close look at a class at the Luethwek Village School as they prepare for upcoming exams.

The scale of this initiative has grown by over 4 times since our launch in 2016, and this growth is driven by the near-famine conditions and other socio-economic challenges in this country.
