Update Zambia | Scholarship Initiative

Report from our partner Noah Ministries in the Southern Province, Zambia

In partnership with Mike Jones of Noah Ministries we are able to support 100’s of children in the Southern Province allowing them to attend school

We do have pictures of the 1st of two groups in their new uniforms that will be send from Zambia soon. According to Mike, the scholarship initiative is bringing many to Christ. Our participation at these schools by providing scholarships for the orphaned children is evangelizing more than he had expected. Churches everywhere are growing from the energy of these young people for Christ Jesus. Mike is confident that the Lord will bless richly those who support these children.

Yes, we have 40 new scholarships this month.

Thanks to our partnership with Noah Ministries, whom we have served with in Zambia since 2007, the Scholarship Initiative is thriving there. In fact, the only limitation on growing this effort in Zambia are the resources needed to support additional children.

As resources become limited in the household, the expense of sending an orphan child to school is often in last place compared to other priorities in the family unit.

Global Orphan Relief has been serving in Zambia since 2006

We actually launched the Scholarship Initiative in 2015 in partnership with Noah Ministries, with whom we have worked with since 2007, in three schools, two in Zambia and the other in Likasi, DR Congo. In partnership with Noah Ministries, we have been able to send orphan children to school since 2015, impacting thousands of children in the process.

Global Orphan Relief (GO!) has been serving children since 2005, and as a result of this effort, widows, families, and entire communities are transformed through our Scholarship Initiative.  The care provided through this initiative creates a ripple effect through the entire community as we demonstrate God’s love for His children. 

Providing an education to children that are most in need, places the child closer to equal footing with their peers. As a component of this initiative, we provide uniforms, school supplies, and or school fees for the child to continue in their education. In addition, as part of attending school, children will receive a meal, and sometimes two.

We are convinced that an education is paramount for these children to break the cycle of poverty. Your investment in these children last a lifetime and they are aware that the opportunity to attend school would not exist without you.

Within the family unit, school fees for an orphan child are often times not a priority. There are also situations where the extended family of the children simply lack the required resources to send them to school. That’s where GO! comes in with their local field partner to empower the child to attend a local school.
