In the heart of Likasi, the local community had found an unexpected gathering place for worship—a tavern. The owners, persuaded by the townspeople, agreed to let them use the space for church services in the afternoons before opening their doors to serve drinks in the evening. When we arrived, I was amazed to see the place completely packed, with people seated right up to where I stood.
