Beneficiaries at Beliek School Learn the Bible

Beneficiaries at Beliek Village Primary School Undertake Biblical Teaching/Interpretation

By Thiik-awet,

SOUTH SUDAN (Beliek)

In expansion of humanitarian service delivery to the orphans and children without parental cares, Global Orphanage Relief (GO!) intervention in South Sudan has gone beyond in making sure the sustainability and safeguarding of these beneficiaries is met at all costs.

Despite being nutritionally catered for, free education, Biblical teaching (coaching) and counselling have been recently incorporated by the school management with the help of Partnering Church-base organization, the Christ Mission to the World (CMW).

At Beliek in particular, children underwent basic English Intensive coursework as the mode of communication and instruction in order to learn the Biblical contents.

Michael Atuer, a headteacher at Beliek, takes this week’s Biblical interpretation and teaching to grade four pupils.  The lead topic of the week discusses “Matthew 5: 1-10.

Their lives have been horrible, but as soon their school became recipient of GO nutritional funds, these kids have been progressively improving day by day and their ambitions and morale have been always high.

In collaboration with Christ Mission to the World and Global Orphan Relief, these children are seen to have been receiving a huge impact in their lives. Life is improving for these children for the better, hence staying in school with shining faces and with the schools having massive turnout daily.

We have served in South Sudan since 2016 and have provided an estimated 455,840 meals impacting 3,162 vulnerable children in South Sudan in 2021. The scale of this initiative has grown by over 4 times since our launch in 2016, and this growth is driven by the near-famine conditions and other socio-economic challenges in this country.

In cooperation with multiple partners, Kids for the Kingdom & Christ Mission to the World, we have invested $126,200 in these three school sites with additional infrastructure over the last 12-months. The projects included provided for clean water, kitchens, storerooms, and latrines. We are thankful for these partners that make this work possible. Working together more children receive meals with larger portions, and the Kingdom of God continues to advance in South Sudan!

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005.  We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care.
