“South Sudan is facing its highest levels of food insecurity and malnutrition since independence 10 years ago”, according to UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, as they have identified 8.3 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, including refugees, across the country. According to Save the Children, violence, flooding and displacement has pushed at least a million children in South Sudan to the brink of starvation.
