AWEIL, SOUTH SUDAN

At least 15 Children who were found with no parents but were brought to the Light House Church by respective guidances late last year are now excelling perfectly and will make a huge impact in their lives  with credit to CMW and Go for their collective efforts in Northern Bahr el Ghazal to fund this project.

As everything is perfectly being catered for, these orphaned children have rapidly changed their status from being beneficiaries to the promising livelihoods of being future leaders.

For the last five months under this project, they're now feeding well, being clothed, treated and accommodated. Following CMW's initiative to accommodate, feed, cloth and catering for other basic needs, these children have improved their wellbeing and hopefully will turn out well.

According to the caregivers at the center, they children were hopelessly brought to the center for further assistance with feeding and accommodation, but now their services include all other basic necessities.

Abak Anei, one of the the caregivers had this to say when asked;

"These children are now seen happy and healthy. As majority of them don't talk because of being too young, there are already good signs of good progress. CMW and GO! are fully supportive." She explains.

Abak expresses her gratitudes to Global Orphan Relief organization for  stepping in offering unwavering support to orphans and other disadvantaged children. She says the assistance is making a very good impact on previously malnourished children.

 "Since they began receiving the feeding program from GO!, there has been a massive improvement. changes are seen on the children's physical appearance compared to the time when they were brought." She explains

Abak feeds these children other nutritional diet food and porridges which had worked perfectly with their daily growth and healthy hygiene.

The porridge is for youngest ones and for the big one we prepare them rice and beans" she said. Mary added that when they (children) fall sick she takes them to nearby health facility for medical attention and makes sure their drugs is administered as Doctor prescribed.

"When the child is ill, I use to take him or her to Light House medical Centre for treatment. And again I give drugs as doctor says" she further added.

Global Orphan Relief has provided limited support for these children since August, however, their needs surpass funding available. Support for what is now 33 children within our home-based care initiative in South Sudan exceeded $2,300 for the month of April. With no ongoing funding for their support securing monthly sponsors will be paramount to continue this work. There are approximately fifty more children currently living on the streets of Aweil.

Today we also currently feed 2,613 vulnerable children in South Sudan. You may send support or other correspondence to Global Orphan Relief, 16352 Prairie Farm Cir, Parker, CO 80134 or you may give electronically to support the home-based care at 2021 Home-based Care or our nutrition initiative to feed vulnerable children at 2021 Nutrition Initiative.
