Recent Flooding in Aweil Centre County

Widespread flooding in the Aweil-area is causing displacement of families in search of dry grown. We have been feeding children in this area of South Sudan since 2016.

Comparing prices at the end of June with the last week of February 2022, prices of staple cereals (sorghum and maize) have increased in all monitored markets, notably by 100 percent or more in Northern Bahr El Ghazal where we current feed 1,502 orphan children in partnership with Christ Mission to the World.

GCW Church Mobilization | Serve With Compassion

Orphans & Widows Pakistan | July Support Report

We continued to support widow-led households in Punjab, Pakistan. Our partner Bethel Church of Pakistan is effectively demonstrating the Gospel to these families in need.

As part of our Orphans & Widows partnership in Pakistan, these families are receiving the aid needed to stay together in one household. This effort prevents these children from being displaced into an orphanage or other environment that would separate them from their mother.

Meet Awien Anei and Siblings of Light House Orphanage

In 2020, we joined hands with Christ Mission to the World to support orphan children in Aweil, South Sudan, many of whom were living on the street.

Awien Anei, a thirteen-year-old orphaned girl is excelling well at Light House under the sponsorship of Global Orphanage Relief in partnership with Christ Mission to the World in South Sudan’s Light House.

2022 Mission Realignment

Last year at this time we went through what we referred to as a Recalibration as we were blessed to welcome Kids for the Kingdom into our efforts in South Sudan to feed the vulnerable children who do not qualify as orphaned.

This year is a slightly different story. A Mission Realignment is underway as we adjust for current resources and how we might proceed to serve more orphan children in the future.

GCW Church Mobilization | United Methodist Church-Meru District

As part of our Church Mobilization Initiative, we held a Great Commandment Workshop event on Saturday, June 25th, that was attended by nearly four-hundred ministry leaders in the community. This was a multi-church event held at a school that assembled ministry leaders and other community members in Meru, Kenya.

Adoor Nutrition Support Continues During Near-Famine Conditions

The result of several geopolitical events is severe hunger for over 60 percent of South Sudan's population.
