Tucked away in the peaceful village of Mpampi, Zambia, House of Faith Orphanage has been a beacon of love, hope, and transformation since it opened its doors in March 2008. For over 15 years, this special place has welcomed orphaned children into a nurturing environment where they are not only provided with the essentials of life—but also given the tools to thrive.

In January 2007, Mike Dee and I made our first visit to Mapampi, Zambia. I still remember walking into the local village school—it had only a grass-thatched roof and no classroom furniture to speak of. That moment left a deep impression on both of us.

When Gideon and baby Festus arrived at House of Faith, little Festus was just one month old — fragile, tiny, and in need of love and care. Today, by God’s grace, Festus is over one year old, thriving, growing, and full of life!

On Saturday, Lusaka, Zambia became the gathering place for a powerful move of God as 251 ministry leaders came together for the Great Commandment Workshop at Saint Paul’s United Church of Zambia. This impactful event was born out of much prayer and a deep desire to equip the Body of Christ to respond to the Biblical call to care for orphaned and vulnerable children.

A key highlight of the day was the commissioning of 193 individuals as GO! Ambassadors. These newly commissioned leaders made a public commitment to serve orphan children in their churches, communities, and beyond — carrying the message of love, advocacy, and practical support.

The 2025 ICS Child Care Plus Report reveals a powerful story of transformation and hope. Since our launch, we have witnessed a tremendous increase in student enrolment, a clear indication that the right support and targeted interventions can open doors for countless children who were previously left behind.

At the House of Faith in Zambia, we’re celebrating some truly wonderful progress among our children—especially our Grade Seven girls, who are working hard in preparation for their final exams this coming October!

In 2006, I stood in front of the congregation at Kitwe Central Church in Zambia, heart heavy and trembling with both grief and purpose.

In the previous year, my wife and I had lost our daughter, Faith. It’s a pain that doesn’t fully go away—a kind of ache that reshapes who you are. And yet, somehow, I knew that her story had meaning beyond the pain. God wanted to turn our experience with Faith into something meaningful beyond just our family.

June is no different as we have set out to care for more than 2,700 orphan children in our three care initiatives; Home-Based Care, Education, and Nutrition and plan to impact another 12,600 children through our Church Mobilization efforts.

February GO! Ambassador of the Month in Zambia

Join us in celebrating Humphrey Mumba as our GO! Ambassador of the month for February in Zambia. Humphrey is one of our GO! Ambassadors in Africa & Asia who served 12,128 orphan children last month.

More than 100 orphan children in the Southern Province of Zambia will attend school this year because of your generosity.

Many more are in need of assistance to get enrolled into school to begin their education. Education provides hope for the future!

2024 Reach 10/40 Mission. I am ramping up preparation for a return to Asia for our Reach 10/40 Mission. I am eager to meet with the Pastors there that have been instrumental in our Church Mobilization Initiative roll-out. 

This mission should result in 325 GO! Ambassadors being commissioned, which will eventually benefit 1,973 orphan children. We can project these expectations based on data that we have collected on the five workshops conducted in Asia thus far over the last year.

The State of our Movement is strong. We raised more funding in 2023 than any time in our ministry with 224 Funding Partners that provided a total of $384,076 during the year. In the field, we impacted a record number of children with 16,196 impacted in December, which was made possible by the hard work of thirteen Field Partners who facilitated work in sixteen distinct Mission Projects in six countries.    

Eighteen years ago, we were preparing to deploy our family to Juarez, Mexico, for our very first international mission. We were busy gathering gifts for 20 children that year along with some other supplies for an orphanage located there. It was an exciting time venturing into the unknown with only our faith to guide us!

While we might be larger as a group than eighteen years ago, we also have many commitments that didn’t exist then. It was a simpler time, but our faith continues to guide us into the unknown.

Together, what we are really doing is creating the future, and this is not just any future, but a better future for all. You see, orphan children are not the only ones to be blessed by this work. The result is that each of us is encouraged by others in our movement.

The way forward is a posture of abundance and not of scarcity.
