Salome Musumba: A Mother to Many, A Servant of God
Salome is currently the guardian of 11 orphans, none of whom are her blood relatives. Nine of the children are total orphans, while two have surviving mothers who are unable to care for them. All of the children live in her home. Although her house is spacious, the boys sleep in the kitchen due to a lack of separate rooms.

Born on June 14, 2006, in Kamulu Village, Kitui County, Susan’s early life was marked by tragedy. The death of her father in 2014 and her mother in 2017, both due to illness, left her orphaned at a young age.

From the Streets of Kayole to a Life of Hope and Purpose
In the heart of Kayole, Nairobi, lives a remarkable young girl named Brigit Makena. At just 13 years old, her life story is one of pain, resilience, and transformation.
An estimated 3.4% to 8.1% of orphan children have never attended school in Kenya, according to a recent study. Additionally, poverty is a major obstacle, with around 1.5 million school-aged children in Kenya not attending due to a lack of resources.
From Hunger to Hope: Empowering Widow-Led Families
In the heart of Ulutya, Kenya, we have the privilege of supporting 88 orphaned children across 31 widow-led households. Among these incredible families is the home of Elizabeth Nduku, a courageous widow caring for her eight grandchildren.

Empowering Change for Orphans & Widows in Kenya
In a remarkable story of resilience and transformation, the impact of compassionate intervention and strategic financial planning has reshaped the life of one Kenyan mother -Caroline Nkirote.
We continue to identify additional widow-led households that we can aid in Kenya, to create long-term sustainability within these households, however, additional support is needed to expand this effort.
Expanding the Mission
In October, we had the privilege of co-hosting two impactful Great Commandment Workshops in Nepal. At the first workshop in Kathmandu, an inspiring 135 ministry leaders committed to serving orphaned children in their communities.
We have deployed 335 GO! Ambassadors in Nepal, who now serve 393 orphan children in their communities. This is an encouraging story of how God is using his local Church to bless His children.

A Ray of Hope in Kathmandu
The narrow streets of Kathmandu buzzed with life as children from different churches and slum areas gathered in a small community hall. Their faces, though marked by hardship, glowed with anticipation. Today was special.
We have deployed 350 GO! Ambassadors in Nepal, who now serve 360 orphan children in their communities. This is a wonderful story of how God is using his local Church to bless children.

Education for Orphan Children in Kenya
Education in Kenya is widely regarded as one of the key drivers of personal and national development. For orphaned children, however, the journey to accessing and completing education is often marked by multiple obstacles.
We are supporting 485 orphan children through our Education Initiative, with 260 of these children in Kenya.

Meet Sharon Wekesa who is a 10- year-old girl from a family of five. Their home is headed by her widowed mother with Sharon being the firstborn with three other siblings.
Today, we are supporting 589 orphan children through our Education Initiative, with 212 of these children attending Fortune Learners’ Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

June 2024 Mission
June is no different as we have set out to care for more than 2,700 orphan children in our three care initiatives; Home-Based Care, Education, and Nutrition and plan to impact another 12,600 children through our Church Mobilization efforts.
We look forward to seeing what God does with us next!

Great Commandment Academy launches in Kenya
The team in Nairobi has been working on the launch of a learning platform for our GO! Ambassadors in Kenya. Our plan is to roll this out for additional countries, which will require additional languages, later in 2024 and into 2025.

More than 30 local ministry leaders joined us in an exchange of ideas, and encouragement regarding serving orphan children.
