2007

January 2007, Partners Mike and Linda Jones

Scott Nordstrom and Mike Dee, a board member of Global Orphan Relief, traveled throughout Zambia to assess multiple opportunities to serve orphans. After nearly two weeks of exhaustive travels, a partnership with Mike and Linda, missionaries with Noah Ministries, was established. They had lived and faithfully ministered in Zambia since 1994 years as a couple.  Mike and Linda now provide onsite leadership to the work in Zambia as our partners to care for orphaned children.  A vision for our movement to serve in Zambia was emerging.

2007, Our Work grows South of the Border

We again deploy two teams in our third year of serving in Mexico. Our Christmas Over the Border team returned from Juarez, Mexico, on December 30th with our team of 20 people. Our Christmas Over the Border Mission in 2007 was our 3rd consecutive year in Juarez. We were up from 20 children in 2005, to serving over 200 orphaned children this year in 5 different homes.

2007, Work at House of Faith Orphanage Begins

We drilled for water, gathered materials for the first home, and construction begins.

From 2005 through 2007 we deployed five teams with 51 volunteers to serve children in Mexico. Our work there concluded based on boarder security, rising violence in Juarez, and fuel prices.
