2006

February 2006, the African Continent

The country of Zambia was the next step. Our Founder, Scott Nordstrom and Rick Vigil of Fort Myers, Florida, departed for Ndola to explore opportunities for serving orphaned children. They worked helping the local orphanage with some facility repairs, provided clothing for the children in the home, encouraged the people in the Copperbelt, learned about African orphans and visited other locations. A plan was beginning to form.

2006, Father’s Love Orphanage

Based on our visit earlier in the year we began work with partners in the area to complete a kitchen remodel and to provide kitchen tables for the children. In 2007, we also completed a water project at the orphanage to ensure ample water supply for those living in the home.

2006, Our Work continues South of the Border

We deployed two more teams to Juarez, Mexico, to serve the children there. Our team numbers thirteen for Christmas, and the care we provide begins to grow beyond Casa de la Nueva Vida.
