Join us in celebrating Diana Muthoni of Nairobi, as our GO! Ambassador of the month of May in Kenya.
What a beautiful picture of what is meant by obedience. Diana heard to call and ventured forward without knowing that the outcome might be. We are encouraged by her faith in the matter of serving orphan children.
"I am Diana Muthoni, a 23-year-old intern at GSM System Company on Mombasa Road in Nairobi. I was raised at Children’s Garden Home in Kawangware, which I still consider my home. After attending a life-changing workshop, I realized the urgent need to support orphans in our community. Through consistent monthly follow-ups, I felt a strong calling to make a difference.
With immense gratitude for the internship allowance provided by my workplace, I decided to respond to this calling. Guided by a sense of purpose and compassion, I purchased essential food items for an orphan in need. My cart held the simple yet vital ingredients: rice, sugar, cooking oil, and a bar of soap - things we often take for granted but hold significant value for those struggling.
But my mission extended beyond material provision. I took it upon myself to prepare a meal and share it with the orphan. This act was not just about sustenance; it was about forming a bond of companionship and understanding. At the children’s home, we encourage them to cook their meals, fostering independence and responsibility.
I find true joy in serving these orphans, and I fervently pray that my efforts contribute to a positive change in our society. My journey is a testament to the transformative power of compassion and action, and I am committed to making a lasting impact."

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care through three care initiatives; Home-Based Care, Education, and Nutrition, In 2022, we launched our Church Mobilization Initiative where we are mobiizing the local church to care for orphan children. Last year, we impacted 7,700 children in Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan, South Sudan, and Zambia within these four initiatives.
Beyond the financial commitment of the workshops, this effort is to be indigenous, self-propagating, and self-supporting. Our objective is to engage local churches to expand our GO! network, mobilize the church body to serve orphaned children, and to advance the Kingdom through demonstrating the Gospel to others. Through these workshops we are:
Church Mobilization is our newest initiative launched in February 2022. We are currently working with local area churches to co-host Great Commandment Workshops where we bring together multiple subject matter experts to discuss the why and how to serve the poor generally, and orphan children specifically. We track the impact of children served through this effort to justify continued investment.
We have co-hosted and facilitated twenty workshops in Asia, Kenya, and Zambia that have hosted a total of 3,788 ministry leaders. At the conclusion of these workshops, we have been honored to commission 2,200 GO! Ambassadors. GO! Ambassadors are those who have received the call to serve orphan children in their communities during these one-day workshops. In June, this GO! Ambassador Network served 10,285 orphan children.
