Reach 10/40 Mission
Reach 10/40 Mission

As many of you know, I recently returned from Asia where we launched our Church Mobilization Initiative. Minister Isaiah Kimani of Kenya joined our team, along with Pastor Ajay . Our international team traversed 518 miles between three cities and over nine days. It was truly a joy to travel with these men as we encouraged one another as we worked to deploy the Church in Asia to serve orphan children.
I am happy to report good preliminary results from the three Great Commandment Workshops that we held during our mission in Asia with 162 GO! Ambassadors commissioned from the 315 ministry leaders in attendence.
The three events were well attended for the most part, and included contributions from local and regional ministry leaders who share during these workshops. The topics that were covered included:
Answering the Why of the GO! Mission
Biblical Response to the Great Commandment
How to start an orphan ministry
Dealing with childhood Trauma
Government rules and legal parameters
These workshops also included a time of worship and prayer, and lastly, we ask the attendees who believe that they are being called to serve orphan children to make a commitment to do so. These individuals become GO! Ambassadors as we commission them to serve in their respective communities.
The events were facilitated and co-hosted in local churches, and were merely minor contributors to their local efforts.
Pastor Ajay will be leading continued church mobilization efforts, and he has established ‘Core Teams’ in each of these three cities. These teams work together to conduct additional workshops, assist in identifying opportunities to serve orphan children, and work with the GO! Ambassadors to deploy talent and resources to address the needs of orphan children in their communities.
Beyond the workshops, our time in Asia was powerful. It was an honor to worship in four different churches during our visit and we were blessed. It was wonderful to see God moving in such a powerful way.
To best describe our Reach 10/40 Mission is to imagine stepping back in time to the 1st century Church. Not that things are primitive in the communities we visited, quite the opposite, but the dynamic presence of the Holy Spirit as people gather in search of the truth. There were multiple experiences that can be easily compared to accounts in Acts. These Church communities are large families discovering our faith as many are first generation believers. For them, “nothing is impossible for God”!
The Church is clamoring to serve in their communities as they walk out their faith. Please pray for these Ambassadors as they serve in a very complex land in the coming months.
Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care. As of December 2022, we impacted 7,199 children in Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan, South Sudan, and Zambia within our Home-based Care, Nutrition, Scholarship, & Church Mobilization Initiatives.
We have commissioned 800 GO! Ambassadors to date in Asia, Kenya, and Zambia as part of our Church Mobilization Initiative. In each country, these efforts are local, indigenous, self-propagating, and self-supporting. Global Orphan Relief acts as a catalyst to launch in each country and then offers some support along the way as we co-host additional workshops with local leadership.
