Feeding the Poor

Feeding the Poor

John 6:5-7  Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.

Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!”

Philip didn’t answer the question, or he answered the wrong one!  We so often bypass considering the solution, especially considering a supernatural move of God, to consider the costs.

Rather than focusing on the costs let us consider how God would like to move in our midst.  🡪 The strange thing here is that even if enough money was available where would they have bought enough food for all of these people?  (there was 5,000 men; most likely 20,000 with women and children)

They most likely would not have had access to this much food regardless of finances.  God was going to do the impossible and He wanted to use his people to accomplish this, “You feed them”.
