Kasigau Pastors Fellowship | GCW

by Minister Isaiah Kimani

Nairobi, Kenya

Workshop Summary Report | On 1st April 5, 2022, Kasigau Pastors Fellowship -Voi in conjunction with Global Orphan Relief had a very successful Great Commandment Workshop (GCW) at Neema Pentecostal Church -Kiteghe, Kenya. The workshop host was Bishop Joram Mwanguo.

Workshop Participants

The primary objective of the workshop was to mobilize and deploy the ministers serving in Kasigau area to serve orphans and vulnerable children in the area. The workshop was well attended, and we surpassed our attendance objective. We had initially targeted to have 50 ministers to be in attendance, but the Lord surprised us by giving us 86 ministers which was 72% over our attendance target.

Panel Discussion

The church was very encouraged by messages from the various speakers and testimonies from young and adult orphans. The Holy Spirit stirred the people to see the opportunities available in serving the orphans and vulnerable children. 52% of the total (45 ministers in all) accepted the Lord’s commissioning. They committed to serve orphans and vulnerable children in one way or another as the Lord leads them.

As a partner, Kasigau Pastors Fellowship did well. They provided the venue and resources to make sure that the workshop was successful. They were highly successful in mobilization of people. The ministers had a relevant delivery of messages and kept to the allocated time.

GCW Attendees being encouraged by subject matter experts

We shall be tracking the commissioned ministers to see how they are doing in short and on long term, encouraging them to continue honoring their pledge even as the Lord releases resources for them. It is a blessing to have so many ministers led by the Spirit to give themselves out for the Great Commandment!

Church Mobilization is our newest initiative launched in February 2022.  We are currently working with local area churches to co-host Great Commandment Workshops where we bring together multiple subject matter experts to discuss the why and how to serve the poor generally, and orphan children specifically.  We will track the impact of children served through this effort to justify continued investment; however, we have no plans to be funding the care of children through this initiative.

Beyond the financial commitment of the workshops, this effort is to be indigenous, self-propagating, and self-supporting.  Our objective is to engage local churches to expand our GO! network, mobilize the church body to serve orphaned children, and to advance the Kingdom through demonstrating the Gospel to others.  Through these workshops we are:

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care. As of April we serve 2,312 orphan children in DR Congo, Kenya, Pakistan, South Sudan, and Zambia within our Home-based Care, Scholarship, Nutrition, and Church Mobilization Initiatives.
