GO! | FORWARD

GO! | FORWARD

March 19, 2022

By Scott Nordstrom

GO! Forward, not to be confused with fast forward, is the posture of our movement today. There is no question that we are continuing to move forward to benefit orphan children. There are no alternative routes, no side streets or other shortcuts, only forward. -advancing forward for the heart of our King.

I am looking forward to the possibilities.  It is also not presumption or simply positive thinking that provides this mind-set.  My confidence moves me forward in this movement of faith we share in common. I do this knowing that God will provide.  Jehovah-Jireh as the scriptures proclaim!

Though we served a record number of children in 2021, my thoughts remain on all those still in need.

Our policy is to not turn children in need away, however, there are real resource limitations.  We, along with our field partners, are also experiencing large increases in commodity prices that put vulnerable children in an even worse situation. The other hardship of this work is that we have also been led to work in some of the most difficult places on earth.

After more than seven years of intermittent conflict, South Sudan is one of the most food-insecure countries in the world. The poor conditions experienced by local populations is caused by a combination of ongoing violence, flooding, resultant population displacement, and disrupted trade, markets, and cultivation activities have exacerbated food insecurity and humanitarian needs. -US Aid

As costs increase in the field we will invest more heavily moving forward in our Church Mobilization effort -the Great Commandment Workshop.

We have been blessed with the provision to match each need in the field as presented over years, but this doesn’t mean that we have never stared into the unknown. Uncertainty of how, when, and where needs are met is commonplace for our movement.

The Lord has provided for the children we serve all along the way since 2005, and we have no reason to believe it will be different going forward. Pray with us as we follow where God leads and that we appropriately address needs of orphan children as they are presented. There is a bold confidence that comes from being a son of the King!

Also in February, we launched our fourth initiative; Church Mobilization which involves our Great Commandment Workshops.
