The nutrition-funded school of Lueth-wek has confirmed that their lives changed following the monthly rations of meals they receive from their donors for the enrolled children’s sustainability.
Following the recent assessment on impact of funding and challenges faced in Global Orphans Relief’s funded-schools, Lueth-wek children who are beneficiaries to Nutrition progamme have openly confirmed that the donations they receive from GO! has improved their livelihood and that they now have hope for better future. They say they’re benefiting from education, preaching of the gospel and nutrition programme for orphaned and children without parental cares.
Kuan Deng Kuan, a 14-year old boy says he improved a lot since joining Lueth-wek. He says he is now able to read and write while practicing the good news of Christian life with his siblings. “This school is good. We have good teaching; our teachers are good. The school has improved a lot and we are happy to be here.” Deng expresses.
He also says the feeding programme has helped them during the famine season and that they mostly rely on the feeding they get from the school because they lack food in their homes.
Deng says the school population has increased since then, following the free food feeding programme and that it becomes challenging to receive satisfactory meals as used to be. “The food is always here but the children are always increasing day by day. Like now we have 1500 children already benefiting here.” He laments. He appeals if the rations can be increased to be able to help them get satisfied as used to be during famine season.
On behalf of Parent Teachers Association and Church Elders, Michael Garang Awach says they’re happy and blessed to have such school in their community for their children. “As an elder in the church, PTA and within this village, I am thankful to the donors and GO! in particular for such a blessed gift of school support and self-empowerment. This is more than appreciated because it helps our children, and the community all-around, and the feeding programme is amazing.” Awach exclaims.
He says the erection of a two-classroom building has made it colourful and beautiful to be called a school. (this building is actually the kitchen and storeroom). He says the donation through nutrition and physical building is being valued highly by the community and that they give thank their generous partners from America for their continuous support.

In South Sudan, education is facing enormous challenges with the lack of qualified teachers, and little funding to effectively operate local schools. Most schools lack basic requirements like school buildings, toilets, food, and clean drinking water.
Plans for 2021 is to provide nutrition to more vulnerable children in the Aweil area, increasing the number of children served by 54% over 2020. In addition, we will begin to further develop these school sites with infrastructure in cooperation with multiple partners.
Today we currently feed 2,113 vulnerable children in South Sudan, and with our partner Christ Mission to the World, we will serve an estimated 42,260 meals at three village schools in the Aweil area this month.
You may send support or other correspondence to Global Orphan Relief, 16352 Prairie Farm Cir, Parker, CO 80134 or you may give also give electronically to support the feeding of vulnerable children at 2021 South Sudan Nutrition.
