Justine Builds His Own Home
Justine Mwaanga Phiri is one of our Foster Care Children
Justine came to House of Faith (HOFO) on the 4th of July 2008 very sick and covered in sores. He had many health concerns and problems in those early years. There was even difficulty in knowing his correct age at the time, but with his health problems we knew we needed to help. We later found out that Justine was born in 1994 not 1998. Justine stayed at House of Faith until he was 18 years old and much healthier.
Global Orphan Relief continues to assist him getting to Clinic each time he needs to attend. Justine at one point moved in with one of the night workers at House of Faith. He was doing well until he stopped taking his medicine and was very sick -being hospitalized for several days. When he was released he stayed at House of Faith for 6 months until he became strong again.
We offered the round house used by older kids who truly have no place to go to Justine. He worked watching our cattle and helping our moms with what ever was needed. Global Orphan Relief bought Justine a co-op share of maize seeds and fertilizer and we started sharing what he needed to mold his bricks and prepare his own house. He worked extra jobs around what needed to be done and grew his first crop of maize. We are happy to say Justine moved into his own home last September and is doing well. He has planted again this season with the first rains! Keep praying for Justine he still has a lot to learn, but is on track for greatness in all he does.
Justine is one of the 688 orphaned children that we support in the DR Congo, South Sudan, and Zambia, but there are thousands more that need our help. Partners are blessing Justine with items he might need. With your partnership we can do that for hundreds more.
