Abigael Thanks You
Update Kenya | Orphans’ Home of Grace | Kakamega, Kenya
Greetings In Jesus name:
The baby girl picked from street and her story shared by the GO! team on their website is doing very well. Abigail is indeed a wonderful miraculous child. She is learning to speak Swahili language with very many babyish vocabularies that requires parental ear and steadiness to understand. She is clean, healthy and very friendly. Every time I arrive at the orphanage, Abigail freely comes and sits near me. She carefully observes me when I’m busy doing computer work. Now with her orphanage brothers and sisters who are going to school, Abigael is our only youngest child, and I know she perceives that too as there is no other younger child than her.
The greatest thing is that her face tells it all that she is finally at home under shelter than being in open streets of Kakamega town in the cold, and then the hot sun. We bless God and pray for the GO! team who actually has enabled the baby girl to be supported and taken care of.
God bless you all GO! partners.

NEED: In Kenya, it is estimated that there are approximately 3.6 million children aged (less than 18 years of age) who have been orphaned or who are vulnerable of a total population of 46 million. Of this 3.6 million orphans, as many as 46% are orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS. There are many other socio-economic statistics that indicate that the family structure is severely challenged in the African country; such as, 25% of the population living on less than a $1 a day, nearly 15% of households in Kenya are headed by an orphan sibling, and 700 children are orphaned every day with 1/3 of these due to HIV/AIDS.
This is a very challenging scenario for any people, and the situation puts these orphaned children’s safety in jeopardy daily. Specifically, without an advocate or a support systems of any kind, these children are at risk for exploitation.
With the partnership between GO! and Orphans Home of Grace we have been able to support the caretakers at the orphanage who are critical for the support of the orphans. In addition, GO! has enabled 6 students to attend boarding school in the current school year.
