Playtime in Zambia!

UPDATE from Zambia  |  House of Faith Orphanage  |  Silembe, Zambia  |  We are so sorry for this LONG delay of getting the barrels up for the children.  We waited because we thought this type of barrel would be easy to get the ends off, well they did not come off easy…… 

Michael again tried two different ways grinding and it did not work.  He then used a saw type tool with an inverter in the vehicle so the power from the battery could be used and they finally came off. 

The children love them but they are not used for crawling through but for swinging…..  Oh well, they do love them….  After this picture with all the kids, I made a rule of two on top and one inside for each barrel and NO STANDING!

This shelter was built several years ago for the purpose of an under-roof playground.  While we had some equipment installed previously, the barrels are the newest addition.  Over the years this shelter has been used by the local church for meetings -prior to their church building being completed, a worship area for the children and staff at House of Faith Orphanage, and of course a play area.

This type of structure that blesses the most vulnerable could not be completed without the faithful supporters of this movement -Global Orphan Relief.  With the help of so many, $300,000 has been invested for capital improvements at House of Faith Orphanage that now has the capacity to host 72 orphans.  In addition, to this shelter, the kitchen/laundry structure, and six homes, we have built a teachers home and have facilities to host 18 visitors at one time. 

Whether it is to hear the incredible singing and beating of drums that sometimes emanates from this place or the joyful voices of children playing; this truly is a very special place in the bush of Zambia -where the physical meets the supernatural.  Please continue to pray for these beautiful children as the Father loves His little ones -the orphans.
