NEED:  Pakistan is a country of 199 million people.  Though no official statistics are available, conservative estimates suggest that Pakistan hosts over four million orphans.  Frequent incidents of ethnic and sectarian killings, terrorism and natural calamities like floods and earthquakes have contributed to this number.  World Watch List 2016 (www.opendoorsusa.org/christian-persecution/world-watch-list/) has shown that Pakistan has moved up to sixth place for how badly those in the Christian minority are treated.  The score for Pakistan was 87 points, while the 1st place North Korea was just 5 points away at 92.  In 2015, Pakistan had ranked number 8, but now rank just after Syria and just before Somalia.  CLICK HERE TO HELP NOW!

The greatest challenge in life for the children we serve in Pakistan is the caste that they were born into -the Deendar Changar –Pakistan’s version of the ‘untouchables’.  Contrary to popular belief, caste in Pakistan has been a means of systematic discrimination.  The lower castes are Pakistan’s downtrodden.  In addition, they receive persecution that comes along with professing the Christian faith.

B.M.S. Orphan’s Home Punjab

HISTORY:  GO! partnered with the Bethel Church of Pakistan in late 2010 to open an Orphan’s care home in the Punjab Province ofPakistan (specific site not communicated for security reasons).  This home received children for the first time in January 2011.  The home host 25 vulnerable children of Pakistan.  Pastor Saleem Raza of the Bethel Church of Pakistan is also instrumental in providing care for orphans at two other sites in Punjab Province.

Pastor Saleem founded Bethel Church of Pakistan in 1995 and this ministry now involves serving women, widows, a prison outreach, Bethel Bible Institute, and a church planting initiative.  Bethel Church of Pakistan was also involved in providing relief to the millions of Pakistanis who suffered through the destructive floods of 2010.

These children are not supported through the child sponsorship program at GO! due to security concerns.  Since 2010 we have had several one-time donations totaling $7,905 earmarked for this orphan home project, but this program has been primarily supported out of our general fund.  To continue this program we will require funding due to other commitments of the movement.  The children are receiving full care to include food, housing, education, and bible instruction by their care givers.  Since 2010 we have invested $109,349 (through Oct 2016) to provide safety and comfort for these children; instilling in them for the very first time a hope for the future.  CLICK HER TO HELP AN ORPHAN CHILD IN PAKISTAN TODAY!

OBJECTIVE:  We provide a place of comfort and safety for orphans that have no other options until such time they can be reunited with their extended family.  In addition, we have a commitment to support each orphaned child in our program to assist them with school fees if they are progressing in school.

FUNDING SOURCE:  We have no funding commitments for 2017.

BUDGET:  The optimum level of service that we’d like to provide for the children located at this home is $100 per month.

Based on current expenditure and expected number of children in 2017 of 25 children living at the home; our planned budget for B.M.S. Orphan’s Home Punjab in 2017 is $27,200.  Together we can continue to be a blessing to these children in a complex land.
