Orphans Home of Grace – Kakamega, Kenya

We had been in touch with the wonderful team at Orphans Home of Grace for several years, and in Q4 2015 we engaged them to consider assisting the orphans in some way in Kenya.  After a rigorous assessment completed by a 3rd party, we decided to support them in the areas they needed most; care taker funding and school fees.

The completed assessment revealed that the staff at Orphans Home of Grace was grossly under compensated which simply was not sustainable nor appropriate.  In addition, there were 4 children at the home that were ready for secondary school with no means to pay the required fees.  This is where we decided to help, and through the many involved with our movement, we stepped in -in January of this year to fill this funding gap.  Our hopes are that this relationship will continue to grow and blossom into something more meaningful for more children in the coming years.  Below is a message from the founder Carmel Lammon.

Beloved saints and all our close friends,

When I first heeded to God’s calling while in Australia, Queensland, back in 1999 to serve the orphaned children.  It was the journey of faith.  I took God at His word and took a flight from Australia to Kenya.  That walk of faith started in a small rented apartment with seven kids and has since grown.  We have managed to educate and train many children over these years.  Some of them are now beginning to see the fruits of our labor and we give glory to God!

This year we had 12 in boarding high schools.  We keep focusing on God and believing positively for provision and support that is given by willing donors.  As I celebrate the many years that God has given me in Kenya to help children I would like to ask for your company of love and care towards the African orphans.  Resources are very scarce and the economy of the nations here aren’t stable, but with any small support gift from friends we can do much.

God bless you as you celebrate with me the joy of serving the orphans of Kenya.  You can become a blessing by supporting just one from the many kids under our care.
