Join us in celebrating Pauline Maina as our GO! Ambassador of the month for March in Kenya.
Pastor Pauline is a pastor ministering at the State Evangelistic Ministry (SEM) under Reverend Teresia Wairimu. They have a humanitarian arm called Operation Give and Grow in Kilifi County Kikambala Region. It is a project started by Rev. Teresia Wairimu in 2006-2007 during the time of famine in Kilifi as a feeding program that continues to the present.
She is the Administrator on the ground and the Project Manager for the program. They have been feeding children in Kilifi Kikambala region daily for many years. They feed around 700 children from the community. When school closes the number increases to around 1,000. Most of these children are orphans, about 80% of them and others come from disadvantaged homes. In Kilifi, the majority of the children are under the care of grandparents due to an increase in early death due to HIV/AIDS. This enables their parents/ guardians to focus on other activities that will cater to their needs. Most of these children are used to having one meal a day. Since it's a community program, they bring them together and absorb both the orphans and the less privileged.
She attended the Great Commandment Workshop in May last year at Mombasa Pentecostal Church. She belongs to the group of Team of Pastors Island in the City. It was put out in the pastor's forum and that’s how she got a chance to attend the workshop since it was her area of interest.
The training she received increased her knowledge for serving orphans. It was an awareness of the importance of helping others, and encouraging people come out and want to stand up for the rights of these children because most of the people in Kilifi did not have this insight.
“If we are not saving a less privileged person you are missing out. We need to share despite the limited resources we have. It simply does not matter how much you have. With the least, you can save a life,” Pauline concluded by encouraging other Christians to share.
Congratulations to Pastor Pauline for this recognition as she encourages others to walk out in faith.

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care through three care initiatives; Home-Based Care, Education, and Nutrition. In 2022, we launched our Church Mobilization Initiative where we are mobilizing the local church to care for orphan children. Last month, we impacted over 14,000 children in Asia (unnamed country), Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan, South Sudan, and Zambia within these four initiatives.
Beyond the financial commitment of the workshops, this effort is to be indigenous, self-propagating, and self-supporting. Our objective is to engage local churches to expand our GO! network, mobilize the church body to serve orphaned children and to advance the Kingdom through demonstrating the Gospel to others. Through these workshops, we are:
Church Mobilization is our newest initiative launched in February 2022. We are currently working with local area churches to co-host Great Commandment Workshops where we bring together multiple subject matter experts to discuss the why and how to serve the poor generally, and orphan children specifically. We track the impact of children served through this effort to justify continued investment.
We have co-hosted and facilitated twenty-six workshops in Africa and Asia where we have hosted 4,633 ministry leaders. After holding these workshops, we have been honored to commission 3,325 GO! Ambassadors. GO! Ambassadors are those who have received the call to serve orphan children in their communities during these one-day workshops and have made a commitment to serve children in their community.
