Based on our growth over the last three years, we no longer have the luxury of funding initiatives or mission projects our of our General Fund. We will be attempting to outline the outstanding needs of children each month to continue their support moving forward.
Our policy change is based on our limited ability to navigate the needs of the children based on the limited resources available. For example, our cash balance as of December 31, 2022 was 87,847, which is resources for less than 2-month at our current scale. At the end of 2021 we were able to build-up available funding to cover almost 4 months of ministry in the field.
The available cash at the end of 2022 is down by over 27% when compared to 2021, while we are impacting 230% more children due to the explosive growth in our Church Mobilization Initiative. Our funding need for February is as follows:
So you might ask yourself the question, “so what if we don’t raise this amount?”
This question requires a difficult answer. As we proceed into March, we will have to decide which mission projects in which initiatives to suspend. This would be a difficult decision based on so many being affected, some worse than others, but would be required for the long-term viability of our mission.
This is why it is so important for us to make you aware of the upcoming challenges now.
We were blessed to have 239 funding partners in 2022, but we need more. I believe that Global Orphan Relief is one of the great values in investing Kingdom resources to bring up the next generation.
I would ask you to consider a couple of options:
Set-up a monthly gift; this could be big or small depending on your budget.
Consider a one-time gift -again big or small depending on your budget.
Consider telling a friend or family member about the wonderful work that you are accomplishing through Global Orphan Relief.
Pray for this ministry. Pray for wise decision making and that the children receive all that they need.
Consider how you might advance the cause of orphan children through your actions.
This remains an exciting time in our journey as a ministry. There is no lack of news or progress on advancing the cause of orphan children by this movement. God has used us to do important work over the last 17-years and I am confident that we have just gotten started… Thank you for your prayerful consideration in this matter.

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care. As of December 2022, we impacted 7,199 children in Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan, South Sudan, and Zambia within our Home-based Care, Nutrition, Scholarship, & Church Mobilization Initiatives.
Scott Nordstrom leads GO! today and has done so since we launched in 2005. Scott has served with GO! for 17-years. Scott has been instrumental in deploying 166 volunteers on 27 teams to the mission field, and has personally served in DR Congo, India, Kenya, Mexico, Nepal, South Sudan, and Zambia.
