Thirteen-year-old Orphan says his Life has changed from GO! 6-years of funding

Following a six-year-funding of nutritional and biblical support in South Sudan, children, mostly orphans or children without parental care who have been benefiting from these school-based and church-based supports, said their lives have impacted greatly in their villages and schools.

At Adoor Village Primary School, another brilliant student who topped primary six examinations’ results last year says that he has been influenced by proper feeding and biblical guidance at his school.

Elijah Bol Anyuon, aged 13, says he managed to be top at his school and class because he is blessed by being fed with healthy food and by getting biblical teachings daily, hence making him to work harder to compensate those who provide these services.

He says he is privileged to be part of such an opportunity and promises to aim higher.

Elijah shares, “Life is no longer the same and hence will continue being taught the word of God so that I grow stronger in faith and be able to help others in the future.”

According to Anyuon, getting food and biblical support has made him addicted to coming to school and church, hoping to have a better future.

In most parts of South Sudan, food security is an issue for children, and especially for orphan children who may have no advocate.

————————-

We have served in South Sudan since 2016 and have provided an estimated 1.3 million meals impacting more than 3,200 children in South Sudan. The scale of this initiative has grown by over 7 times since our launch in 2016, and this growth is driven by the near-famine conditions and other socio-economic challenges in this country.

In cooperation with two partners, Kids for the Kingdom & Christ Mission to the World, we have invested $130,000 in these three school sites with additional infrastructure since Q3 2020. We have provided for clean water, kitchens, storerooms, and latrines, all which allows for cost-effective distribution of food aid in these communities. We are thankful for these partners that make this work possible.

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work through local in-country partners that provide oversight and distribution of care.
