Adoor Host Communities are blessed from American Good Samaritans (GO!)

Adoor Host Communities say Go! Collective Contribution to their children is more than a blessing from American Good Samaritans (GO!)

 AWEIL, (SOUTH SUDAN)

Communities at Adoor Village from Aweil East County of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state in South Sudan, have praised the generosity from American people and the rest of the world’s donors through Global Orphanage Relief (GO!) whose contribution to their children through school meals, storage, kitchen and latrine to their community is more valuable in their lives.

As Adoor School has experienced an influx of children deserting other nearby and far-away schools from Aweil East County to join Adoor, based on the outstanding nutritional service, the host community whose children benefit from this school came to school to show their gratitude and word of “thank you” to school through Parent Teachers Association and community chiefs.

This is in response to the hunger crises in the country and particularly in the schools where meals are not provided as hunger season looms and threatening on most families without income.

For the last two weeks, at least more than 100 children have been registered at Adoor with status of no parental care or being from low income families, as such community elders came to appreciate the blessings and generosity for serving community whose hunger topmost becomes an obstacle every year.

Angelo Akech Aguer, a community leader who speaks on behalf of the community at Adoor says they don’t know what they can express in words as a better response to the huge community support from GO!. Because thank you is not enough, but they can really say that this is a blessing beyond what they could imagine.

“As we observed many contributions our community received from GO! through our children, we feel that we are the only blessed community in South Sudan to enjoy these services for our children. We are getting a food aid, storage and kitchen, and all these without reward or a pay back to those doing these wonderful works to us is indeed an amazing thing to believe,” Akech explains in Dinka language at the school compound during their visit.

Akech further says, their village has higher rate of Christianity conversion from old ages of women and men and that’s why God is doing miracles to them. He says more preaching are actively going on daily for conversion from Paganism to Christianity in their village which started few months ago and that they will spread the Good News of Gospel across the state as a pay back to the wonderful people of God who serve them through GO!.

At least 1,300 children are being served at Adoor through GO! funding for nutritional project providing school meals. Adoor, like Lueth-wek and Beliek was blessed early this year to have two-room concrete building each with funding from GO!, which can be used as a store, kitchen and shelter as most of these schools were in the open space.

 ————————————

In the first six months of 2021 we have experienced a dramatic increase in the number of children coming to our partner schools to receive meals; more than a 1,000 new children in this time.

In the first six months of this year we have provided an estimated 324,540 meals impacting 3,162 children. The scale of this initiative has grown by more than 3x when compared to 2020 when we served an estimated 104,440 meals to 852 vulnerable children.

Plans for 2021 is to provide nutrition to more vulnerable children in the Aweil area. In cooperation with multiple partners (Kids for the Kingdom & Christ Mission to the World), we have invested in these school sites with additional infrastructure over the last 6-months by investing $109,200 during this time for kitchens, storerooms, and latrines. We have taken this a step further this month (July 2021) when Kids for the Kingdom agreed to support the vulnerable children while we focus on the orphaned children that are in need. Ultimately, more children will receive meals, with larger portions, and the Kingdom of God will continue to advance in South Sudan!

Since 2016 we have served these precious children with our partner Christ Mission to the World who are the hands and feet on the ground, and we are now joined by Kids for the Kingdom so that we may bless even more children in need.

You may send support or other correspondence to Global Orphan Relief, 16352 Prairie Farm Cir, Parker, CO 80134 or you may give also give electronically to support the feeding of vulnerable children at 2021 South Sudan Nutrition.
