Adut & Nyibol Majok Received by Light House Orphanage

 Aweil, (SOUTH SUDAN)

Our Light House Orphanage (LHO) location in Aweil, South Sudan, is constantly under pressure with children in need seeking aid. Unfortunately, it is not possible to receive everyone, but we try to consider those who are desperate for assistance as our first priority.

As such, Christ Mission to the World (CMW) with support from Global Orphan Relief, have received another 29 orphan children this past month. With the current economic challenges in the country, most of these children simply cannot be supported by their extended families. With this in mind, we have stepped in at LHO to provide aid to these families for provide for this orphaned children.

Between the 24 children living at LHO, and the 78 children now being supported by our foster care network, 102 orphans are now receiving life-sustaining aid through this partnership. Two such children received this past month has been Adut (age 10) and Nyibol (age 6) that now are getting the food they need that their extended families could not provide.

Adut and Nyibol Majok lost their mother this past July when she became ill with blood pressure issues.

Most of these children do not have sponsors and we are by faith supporting them out of our general fund. We believe this to be an important work and we hope that you do to. Thanks to many of you that are already blessing these children through your support, but please tell others about the need.

The LHO center was originally known as Light House because most children here have been abandoned and were loitering on streets before being gathered at this location. The center was established in July last year when the Church faithful of Light House Church found 10 kids being abandoned on the streets without being supported my any adults. These children were brought to the church premises where they got accommodated and survived on church offerings till August last year when Global Orphan Relief intervened with feeding and other basic needs were supported.

Global Orphan Relief has provided support for these children since August 2020, however, their needs surpass funding available. Support for the 102 children that we now aid, are served within our home-based care initiative in South Sudan. Costs for these children now exceeds $5,260 each month with no funds raised designated for this specific mission. With no ongoing funding for their support, securing monthly sponsors will be paramount to continue this work. There are many more children currently living on the streets of Aweil.

Today we also feed 1,313 orphaned children in South Sudan. This means that we are providing aid to a total of 1,415 children in South Sudan this month (November 2021). You may send support or other correspondence to Global Orphan Relief, 16352 Prairie Farm Cir, Parker, CO 80134 or you may give electronically to support the home-based care at 2021 Home-based Care or support the nutrition initiative to feed children in need at 2021 Nutrition Initiative.
