The orphaned children of Adoor from Aweil East and Beliek of Aweil South Counties (Districts) of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State in South Sudan have given an overwhelming applause to the donors whose mission has been in full support of their spiritual, social, economic and psychological mentorship for their future.
In an inclusive interview, a group of pupils from Adoor Orphanage Primary school caught up with media team where they expressed their exhilaration for being supported for good number of years on feeding, learning and spiritual development programmes so far while expressing eagerness to continue with high moral of developing their personal ambitions of who to become in the future.
A 16-year old orphaned boy, Piol Piol who has been in this Orphanage school for 7 years, says it is a blessing for him and his colleagues to undergo some feeding and education programmes with support from Christ Mission to the World in partnership with Global Orphans Relief Organization which have been jointly supporting their school both with feeding, learning and also providing them with religious development to learn the word of God.
“With a grace of God, it has been a blessing for us to be part of this school as we get feeding, education and also religious services from our good Samaritans who are tirelessly supporting this school.” Piol says.
Piol further appeals for more support especially the provision of concrete building of their school as they’re getting lessons under trees; only one class in a grass thatched-roofing which is meant as a church. He underscored the limitation of the feeding allocation whereas the number of orphaned children in this particular school rapidly increased from 300 to 601 as of 2020, which he believes sometime the food allocated for each child has to be re-adjusted to feed the present number. He dreams of becoming a doctor or a pastor in order to compensate the Christ Mission to the World and Global Orphanage Relief via people of South Sudan when he grows up.
Mary Abuk Dut, a 15-year orphaned girl says she is honored to be part of this great society, despite having lost her parents at early age; she is feeling at home with this great generosity from the donors and that she will try her best to avoid early marriage as being a system in country to female students and stick to her free education so that she improves her future livelihood. She is also dreaming to become a doctor or pastor.

Adoor Orphanage Primary school has 601 pupils, mostly orphans and children from vulnerable parents who cannot afford sending them to schools. The school is situated in a remote village of (Adoor) Abiem East or eastern geographical area of defunct Aweil east State, now under Northern Bahr el Ghazal State in South Sudan. it is approximately 62 kilometers driving from the capital of Northern Bahr El Ghazal, Aweil Town. The school has been opened since 2012 by the Christ Mission to the World, a church-based organization headed by a South Sudanese Bishop, Wilson Garang Chan who happens to hail from Northern Bahr el Ghazal whose organization works in mentoring, boosting self sustainability through farming and God’s preaching to local community. This local organization is involved multi-community services in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, which include but not limited to Community Hospital, two junior schools and a high school situated in state’s capital. In Aweil East and South Counties, Christ Mission to the World provides, free community services of schools’ materials, feeding (with support from Global Orphanage Relief), supporting local farmers to sustainably improve on Field Farmers Schools (FFS). In both projects, Bishop is understood to be the founding donor before the gaps increased which resulted to external funding. The primary objective of these centers was meant to deliver the word of God to the entire villagers around those areas but after a crucial analysis, the needs of providing orphans with feeding and education services to the vulnerable populace also emerged.

Meanwhile Beliek Orphanage Primary School in Aweil South County (South-eastern) of Northern Bahr el Ghazal, has 343 pupils are also benefiting from this feeding programme. Getting words of God and education for their better future is also part of the services these two organizations tirelessly prioritize to fight well of these helpless kids. According to children who are benefiting from these donors, they say it is a huge blessing for them to have been chosen to enjoy such free orphanage services from the church-based organizations.
They believe the support they’re getting from the donors will never be forgotten by themselves as such they acknowledged in both schools that the best way to appreciate their donors will be by working hard to also deliver the same services they get from them to the needy people when they finish their studies by God’s grace.

In Beliek Orphanage Primary school, Mary Anger, a 15-year old pupil who currently studies in primary six wishes to be pastor when she finishes her studies. She says that will be the only way to compensate her donors who have generously sponsored her education. She dreams also of dedicating her time to serve people in need as a pay-back commitment.
Beliek Orphanage Primary school is 39 kilometers driving from Aweil Town, the capital of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.
Global Orphanage Relief Organization in partnership with Christ Mission to the World is supporting two orphanage primary schools with feeding in Northern Bahr el Ghazal’s Aweil South and East Counties. The Christ Mission to the World has been in support of these schools since 2012 before Global Orphanage Relief organization came in to bridge the feeding agaps in 2015. At least 944 children are getting daily meals of at least one plate daily from Monday to Friday.
The meals are made up of lentils and maize flour and sometimes sorghum’s flour (cereals)
There are 20 volunteer teachers at both schools who are giving their lessons under trees due to lack of built facilities and shelter. Despite lacking salaries and well organized teaching facilities, these teachers say they find it irresistible to carry on their teaching jobs to more advancing levels.
They appealed to their donors to mobilize more funds so that their pupils take classes in built rooms rather than under trees. They also appeal to be supported on incentives so that their families will be able to feed as hunger looms in the country. All schools, public gathering and other ceremonial activities were banned through a presidential decree on March 10th2020 which is continuously being observed countrywide. It is not clear whether the suspension will be lifted soon to allow resumption of schools; except resumption of domestic flights and reopening of markets with strict adherence to social distancing, washing hands and wearing face masks due to corona virus outbreak in the country.
In a Aweil South County (Tiaraliet), a grinding mill was donated by Global Orphanage Relief to the school (Beliek) as an alternative source of income for students at school in general, the grinding mill worked and had generated some sustainable costs within shortest period of time. The grinding mill is believed to have broken down which needs series of spare parts and other major maintenance.
We have been serving with Christ Mission to the World in South Sudan since February 2016 when we started feeding 300 children at 2 schools. We continue this work today at the same two schools, in Adoor and Beliek, and have grown to feed 944 children daily. Join the effort to feed even more children in need in South Sudan today!
