We Should GO!

As I work on content for our website I came across something I wrote in November 2006.  As some of you are aware, we started our movement in 2005 as World Orphan Relief, but changed our name some years later to Global Orphan Relief (GO!).

I am consumed by what we have yet to accomplish.  Wow, that is a concept that is wide open isn’t it? There are so many opportunities to serve orphaned children, whether in Africa, Asia, or in Latin America. The prospect of ‘what we have yet to accomplish’ can be somewhat overwhelming.

I agree that this mission we have accepted is huge. That is why we must go, one step at a time, but we must go. We have started a work in Mexico, Myanmar, and Zambia that requires steadfastness, vision, and determination; this work is only beginning. The good Lord has provided a long road for us to walk, but to progress we must continue to Go!  As we journey there are no paths to follow, but our way is well illuminated!

This journey is not for the light-hearted, but the big-hearted. I have been encouraged by so many that have joined us on this quest. People I don’t even know have walked beside us, and more will join us along the way. So much of what we have seen thus far is heart breaking, but we will overcome the sadness to deliver hope; and this hope never disappoints.

As of today, I honestly feel the same way, however, I think it would be different though.  It has been over 13 years since I wrote the above, but it could have been last week! So much has changed with the ministry to include the scale and scope of what we are now accomplishing in the field, and the number of partners that have joined us in this work.  Thanks to all of those who are part of the movement, and I look forward to seeing what God accomplishes through you in the years to come.
