Zambia Update III
Noah Ministries | GO! Partner | Southern Province, Zambia
Our sweet Potato harvest at House of faith was fair this year as it was a last minute effort to plant in the wet garden area this past February. We will plant the whole garden in late December early January this coming rainy season. We believe we will have a wonderful harvest next year.
We have been able to substantially reduce the funds required for feeding the children at House of Faith Orphanage (HOFO) through the planting of the garden, raising chickens, and planting maize fields. This is a real opportunity for the children to learn life skills needed for living in Zambia. The HOFO family and some from the surrounding community assist the children in their fields.
It truly is a wonderful scene to watch the HOFO community take ownership for their care.
NEED: The children need $17,184 in the next 2-weeks to cover 4-months of care costs in Zambia for 218 children. This is not a regular challenge for the children or our ministry. Mike and Linda Jones of Noah Ministries, are departing at the end of August for a 3-month visit to their family in Europe and the U.S., and they oversee our work in Zambia. Anything you might assist with to provide for the children in Zambia through 2017 would be greatly appreciated by these vulnerable children and will make a world of difference in their care through 2017. You may send a check to Global Orphan Relief, 16352 Prairie Farm Cir, Parker, CO 80134 or you may give electronically at <DONATE HERE>.
Zambia is a country of nearly 14 million people with an orphan population of approximately 1.4 million. Today, GO! serves 218 orphans in Zambia at 3 orphanage-based projects, foster care, a scholarship program, and by providing food to some in need.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
