Luuwo Moona

Luuwo Moona | House of Faith Orphanage | Southern Province, Zambia

Luuwo is a double orphan and came to Global Orphan Relief at the age of 13, very sick and needing help.  Luuwo is now 19 years old and doing well at the House of Faith Orphanage (HOFO) where she has lived for over 6 years now.  I (Scott) can remember the first day we went to visit her in April 2011.  It was a sad situation where she was living with her Aunt & Uncle -much deeper into the bush far away from any medical facilities.  There was limited food available and really nothing needed to provide the care required for Luuwo.  You see, Luuwo is HIV positive.  These HIV positive children need special care that will provide them opportunities for a normal life.  She is also having trouble with her eyesight that is preventing her from advancing in school.

Luuwo has been helping mama Rita as a mother’s helper since March of this year and will return to her Auntie and Uncle the end of August.

She will depart HOFO with a sewing machine and material to learn tailoring in her village.  Please keep Luuwo in your prayers for her transition back to live with her extended family.   She will stay in our extended care program (foster care) because of her regular clinic visits that are required.  We have been blessed to watch her grow into a young woman.  Well done Luuwo!

NEED:  We are needing to raise $17,184 in the next 2-weeks to properly cover 4-months of these costs in Zambia for our 218 children as our reserve funds have depleted as we have service more children.  Mike and Linda Jones of Noah Ministries are departing at the end of August for a 3-month visit to their family in Europe and the U.S., and they oversee our work in Zambia.  Supplies, to include food, needed for Sep – Dec needs to be purchased this month.  Anything you might assist with to provide for the children in Zambia through 2017 would be greatly appreciated by these vulnerable children and will make a world of difference in their care through the end of the year.  You may send a check to Global Orphan Relief, 16352 Prairie Farm Cir, Parker, CO 80134 or you may give electronically at <DONATE HERE>.

Zambia is a country of nearly 14 million people with an orphan population of approximately 1.4 million.  Today, GO! serves 218 orphans in Zambia at 3 orphanage-based projects, foster care, a scholarship program, and by providing food to some in need.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
