New School Year Begins
Update Zambia | Kalomo House | Kalomo, Zambia
Our grade 8’s arrived into town Friday to start their upper level schooling. We gathered them in groups for contract signing and agreeing to our house rules while schooling in Kalomo with Mama Benita.
Saturday morning we went out to shop for school supplies and uniforms. Two students have not yet arrived back from break and Priscar joined the group late Saturday. I will have group pictures of all 13 next week with them all in uniform. Mama Benita is still working to get a few students into classes so no uniform can be bought until we know which school they will attend.
The kids are looking forward to a team visit Uncle Scott this July.

NEED: Zambia is a country of nearly 14 million people with an orphan population of approximately 1.4 million. Many of these children remain with extended family and most of these extended families have biological children as well. Ultimately, when resources don’t allow for food, clothing, and education as needed, these orphan children are last in line -not having the same rights as the other children.
Through November 2016 we have provided funding of $823,004 that has been invested in capital infrastructure, program development, and for the care of the children. Today we serve 300 children in Zambia through various means; home-based care, foster care, education scholarships, and feeding programs.
The Kalomo House is a rented home in Kalomo for the children that are attending secondary school. The family here does change from year to year based on who is attending school and where. Currently, all of the children living in the Kalomo House are from House of Faith Orphanage.
