Royal and Victor

Update from Zambia  |  House of Faith Orphanage  |  Our Physical Therapist spent a couple of hours with us yesterday working with Royal and Victor to discuss our way forward for them.  He was so busy and the only one in the office, but still took the time with us.  There are no tight muscles in their bodies.  Flyness is doing a great job with that.  Flyness is a local woman that lives in the village that has been trained by visitors to provide physical therapy to Royal and Victor.  He did show Flyness several new exercises to do with Royal for his arms, shoulders, and hands so we can really work with him so he can feed himself.

We will also be working on the potty training. I bought this expensive potty seat for him, but Daisy has not even tried  to use it on a regular schedule.  With the money we will save by not driving into town, I will be looking for another person to work with Royal and Victor each day after Flyness has completed the exercises she does with them.  This new person will be doing the activities Jo Anne left for the moms to do with the children, which we are finding these things not getting done each day.

It is very important for Royal and Victor both to walk and Royal to feed himself.  Our trip to Lusaka Cure Hospital with Mackmore, Victor, and Royal was cancelled becasue the ENT Doctor went out of the country.  We are hoping to make this special trip now in Oct.  Frances shared that he feels Victor doesn’t talk because of whatever is going on in his throat. We are praying Mackmore will be ready for surgery to close his opened ear drums, and that we can get Royal leg braces and hand splints.

Prayer request is that we will find someone very special to work with these two children twice a day, mornings and afternoons, that lives nearby.  We currently care for three special needs children at House of Faith that experience physical disabilities.  It is far more difficult and expensive to care for these children, but we can’t possibly turn them away.  Join with us in making a difference in 100’s of children’s lives!
