Equipping Students for the Future in the Southern Province of Zambia

In Zambia, orphaned children face significant challenges in accessing education due to factors such as poverty, lack of resources, and the absence of parental support. Many orphans struggle to afford school fees, uniforms, and essential supplies, which can hinder their ability to attend school.
To address these challenges, we have implemented mission projects to support orphaned children's education by equipping them for the school year. Earlier this year we were able to work with Noah Ministries in the Southern Province of Zambia to equip 100 orphan children for the 2025 school year. These 100 students attend 7 schools in different places throughout the province.
Global Orphan Relief equipped these students with needed supplies, including shoes, uniforms, and other essentials, enabling them to attend school
Despite these efforts, challenges persist. A study conducted in Zambia, explored access to educational support for orphaned learners, highlighting issues such as a lack of awareness about educational rights and difficulties in accessing support. In addition, there are many more children in need of school supplies to attend school.
These projects are crucial in providing orphaned children with the education they deserve, but continued support and expansion to additional schools is necessary to ensure that all orphaned children in Zambia have access to quality education.
Thanks to all who make this work possible!
Please note that Pastoral care is provided to these families as our partners demonstrate the Gospel through your kind support.
We thank our local field partner Noah Ministries in Zambia, for their efforts to provide for the needs of Orphans in their community. We have served with this team since 2007. As we continue this effort it is important for us to secure the monthly support needed for this current level of aid so we can grow this partnership by serving additional children. Throughout Zambia there are 1,000’s that need assistance to attend school.
Support is needed for additional children to attend school. This aid and method of care allow families to support ALL the children in their households and strengthen communities by helping to maintain strong family units.
Often orphan children are cared for by extended families, and their education becomes the lowest priority for the household. We aid the children that are in jeopardy of not attending school by working with local learning institutions to identify children in the community who need aid to attend school.
Global Orphan Relief (GO!) has been serving orphaned children since 2005, and as a result of this effort, orphan children, widows, families, and entire communities are transformed through our Education Initiative. The care provided creates a ripple effect through the entire community as we demonstrate God’s love for His people.
