Aweil, SOUTH SUDAN

As one of the highly populated schools where the partnership of Global Orphan Relief and Christ Mission to the World feed orphan children in South Sudan, the Beliek School produces another brilliant student which has surprised the host community's neighbouring schools.

Valentino Wek Nyang, a fifteen-year-old orphan child whose residence has been the school compound for the last four years, now emerges as the best student with 488 marks out of 500.

Although Valentino was struggling with malnutrition before joining the school, he now healthy and the best student in his entire school.

While expressing his gratitude to the Global Orphan Relief, Nyang says he came from nowhere and now is heading somewhere. Valentino now has hope for the future based on his enrollment in the school at Beliek.

With the project implementation from Christ Mission to the World( CMW), The Beliek Primary School hosts 901 school pupils who have sat for their examinations a month ago. It has been a busy term at the school that attracts more children with less or no parental cares to attend, and now it's making this school highly populated with students.

According to the pupils, the school is being seen as the best school in the community because it provides food aid to children admitted here. They say it keeps them motivated and satisfied to do their exams and teachings with high morales.

Global Orphan Relief (GO!) in collaboration with Christ Mission to the World (CMW) establishes feeding centres at village schools to provide meals to orphan children and have inspired many orphan children to attend school.

We have served in South Sudan since 2016 and have provided an estimated 1.8 million meals impacting more than 3,200 children in South Sudan. The scale of this initiative has grown by over 7 times since our launch in 2016, and this growth is driven by the near-famine conditions, the influx of refugees from Sudan, and other socio-economic challenges in this country.

In cooperation with three partners, Kids for the Kingdom, Christ Mission to the World, and 200 Orphanages, there has been $164,000 invested in four school sites since October 2020. This investment provides for clean water, kitchens, storerooms, and latrines, all which allow for cost-effective distribution of food aid in these communities.
