Anita Twili Zipporah Shares Her Story of Restoration

My name is Anitah Twili Zipporah. I am a daughter to the late Ms. Zipporah Nzilani, and I was born on 12 December 2007. Since the death of my mother, I have been living with my grandmother who has been taking care of me.

In the past I didn’t know what happened for I was too young to understand the pain of death. In the last few years when life has been too difficult for our family, we found ourselves in dire need and lacking in everything. I remember the effort my grandmother has gone through to feed me and my aunt and uncle.

Anita (girl in the middle ) with her grandmother and uncle whom they study from the same school but are in different classes.

I was thinking of quitting school and even the village life. One evening my grandmother came with news that they met a Mzungu (white man) who has promised to assist the orphans in the village, and this was the best news I had ever received. This was the news I wanted to hear again and again. This news brought hope, peace, and joy into my life that I can’t express in writing.

I remember discussing with my grandmother until midnight before she forced all of us to go and sleep. I tried to sleep but all in vain because I was so excited to be attending school! I have been able to remain in school due to the help am receiving from Global Orphan Relief through Arising Christian Ministries.

Now I am full of life, and I can dream about a great future like any other child. Though sometimes food and clothing is a great challenge, I can manage with the little I get, and know after hard work my life will never be the same. I am a born again and believer in God and I am sure that He will see me through. Thank God and all who God used and is using to restore hope and life in me.

I can’t repay you, but I pray to the God of Bible to reward you in a great way. I pray that my dream and joy of my vision will not be cut-short, but I will continue with my studies until I finish high school and join college. I had lost hope and my appetite and passion for education but now am full of life and ready to surprise you with good pass mark.

Thank you all for bringing me hope and joy in my life. God bless each and every one involved in funding our education. I promised God after I make it in life, I will commit myself to help the poor and the less privileged. God bless you.

Today, we are supporting 322 orphan children through our Education Initiative with plans to increase this to 586 student recipients in Kenya & Zambia in 2023.

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care.

As of November 2022, we served 6,033 orphan children in Ethiopia, Kenya, Pakistan, South Sudan, and Zambia. We provide this aid through our Field Partners & our GO! Ambassador networks through our Home-Based Care, Education, Nutrition & Church Mobilization Initiatives.

We support 20 orphan children in the village of Ulutya in Kenya, with plans to have 30 children on scholarship in 2023. Ulutya is east of Nairobi by 136 kilometers. These children are served through our Education Initiative, which allows for these children to continue with their education, and they receive food at school as well.

We have worked with Apostle Benson Musyimi of Arising Christian Ministries since October 2021 when we partnered to support the children living at A Place of Hope Orphanage. Since then, we have grown our partnership to provide scholarships in Ulutya Village, and nutritional support to a school in Lucky Summer Estate. Apostle Benson was also part of our GO! Kenya team who launched our Church Mobilization effort in Mombasa and Nairobi in February 2022.
