I am in my last week of preparation for my time in Kenya and I believe that I am right on schedule as I finalize schedules and budgets for my time there. I always expect challenges to present themselves during the week prior to departure, but I am confident that I’ll be ready.
I am highly expectant to achieve much on this trip, but so much is not actually up to me, but for the Lord to prepare hearts -mine and for those that I might meet during my stay. Miracles happen in moments like this, and I am eager to see what might happen to the benefit of His people.
Some of you have heard me talk about our Great Commandment Workshop (GCW) concept -a strategy to deploy the local church to care for the orphans in their midst. Now some of this is already happening in places like Nairobi, but the need is overwhelming with three million orphaned, so more hands and feet are needed. We will be trialing our GCW in Nairobi on Saturday, August 7th with church leaders in the city. Please pray for the Lord to speak loudly and clearly to the people in this gathering. I will share from:
Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed.
Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows. Isa 1:17 (NLT)
I am looking forward to how God might provide Hope for the Future to the people as we consider how He might use the church to bless the orphan child.
Our 2021 Bridge of Hope Mission will be focused on what we might do in the future to serve orphaned children in Kenya. The needs are overwhelming for so many children and we look forward to learning more about what can be done. Hope is always future oriented, and has we posture ourselves to meet the challenges of the future, to do so without hope is to walk into the darkness. Our time in Kenya next month will be about bringing the light so we can illuminate the way forward. Such a prospect is impossible without Jesus.
Many of you are to be commended for what God has already used us to do in Kenya. In places like Fortune Learners Centre, a place where 74 orphaned children are empowered to get an education, and another 79 vulnerable children receive support via a W.A.S.H. program that is supported by Global Orphan Relief. Many of these children now have a Hope for the Future because of your generous support. I do plan on spending several days with these children and I look forward to providing you a good report. Below are several recent graduates from the preschool program at the school.
If you would consider being involved with our 2021 Bridge of Hope Mission we can continue to provide education opportunities for these children through 2021. Education is instrumental in providing Hope for the Future and is foundational for breaking the cycle of poverty. Come and join us in demonstrating the love of Jesus to the least of these -the orphaned child.

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work to date through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care.
