Zambia Update

Noah Ministries Update from Zambia:

We spent three days at House of Hope working on the building last week and just trying to spend a bit of time with Sheri before she departs back to the U.S.

We found the children reading very well in English and loving their time with Sheri.  They had devotions the night we visited and I loved seeing their smiles and excitement to answer all the questions.  They even had a time of exercise….

NEED:  Zambia is a country of nearly 14 million people with an orphan population of approximately 1.4 million.  Many of these children remain with extended family and most of these extended families have biological children as well.  Ultimately, when resources don’t allow for food, clothing, and education as needed, these orphan children are last in line not having the same rights as the other children.

Today, GO! serves 218 orphans in Zambia at 3 orphanage-based projects, foster care, a scholarship program, and by providing food to some in need.

In the next 30-days we are experiencing a somewhat different challenge for the children we serve in Zambia.  Our partners, Mike and Linda Jones of Noah Ministries, are departing at the end of August for a 3-month visit to their family in Europe and the U.S.  Based on this visit, 4-months of care costs will be required in the next several weeks so we can purchase food, supplies, provide for 4-months of payroll, and other related costs.  In the past we have overcome these funding issues with our reserve fund, but this fund has been depleted over the past 12+ months as we have dramatically increased the number of children we are serving.  We are needing to raise $17,184 in the next 2-weeks to properly cover these costs in Zambia for our 218 children.

Anything you might assist with to provide for the children in Zambia through 2017 would be greatly appreciated by these children and make a world of difference for their care through what remains of 2017.  You may send a check to Global Orphan Relief, 16352 Prairie Farm Cir, Parker, CO 80134 or you may give electronically at https://globalorphanrelief.org/donate-support/.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
