Beneficiaries at Beliek Primary School Undertake Biblical Teaching/Interpretation

By Thiik-awet,

BELIEK (SOUTH SUDAN)

In expansion of humanitarian service delivery to the orphans and children without parental care, Global Orphan Relief (GO!) intervention in South Sudan has gone beyond in making sure the sustainability and safeguarding of these beneficiaries is met at all costs.

Despite being nutritionally catered for, free education, Biblical teaching (coaching) and counselling have been recently incorporated by the school management with the help of Partnering Church-based organization, Christ Mission to the World (CMW).

At Beliek in particular, children underwent, basic English Intensive course as the mode of communication and instruction in order to learn the Biblical content.

Michael Atuer, a headteacher at Beliek takes this week’s Biblical interpretation and teaching to grade four pupils.  The topic of the week discussed “Matthew 5: 1-10” -which included the Sermon on the Mount.

Their lives have been horrible, but as soon their school became recipient of GO! nutritional effort, these kids have been progressively improving day by day and their ambitions and morale is high.

In collaboration with Christ Mission to the World and GO!, these children are seen to have been having huge impact in their lives’ betterment, hence staying with shining faces and with massive turnout daily.

We have served in South Sudan since 2016 and have provided an estimated 1.2 million meals impacting more than 3,200 children in South Sudan. The scale of this initiative has grown by over 7 times since our launch in 2016, and this growth is driven by the near-famine conditions and other socio-economic challenges in this country.

In cooperation with two partners, Kids for the Kingdom & Christ Mission to the World, we have invested in these three school sites with additional infrastructure since Q3 2020 by investing $130,000 for clean water, kitchens, storerooms, and latrines. We are thankful for these partners that make this work possible.

Global Orphan Relief (GO) has been serving orphaned children since 2005. We have accomplished this work through local partners in each country that provides oversight and distribution of care.
