 AWEIL, SOUTH SUDAN

Meet Aleu Yel, a 12-year-old boy whose life has been significantly changed by the efforts of Global Orphanage Relief in his community. He applauds the generosity offered to vulnerable children in South Sudan and says the funding has impacted their lives and that they are grateful to be part of GO! Nutrition Initiative project in South Sudan. Yel says he has so far, together with his colleagues, bettered their lives for several years as they have survived the severe hunger gaps in South Sudan, but with intervention from GO! their lives have never been the same again.

He is still in primary four, but believes that there is nothing for free in this economic world and trusts that those who are putting their money together to support them, while they don’t even know them physically in different foreign countries, are indeed THE GOOD SAMARITANS in the Kingdom of God and that they deserve praising and honor for having such exceptional hearts.

Aleu says as he comes from poverty-stricken family, there was no way he would dream of such a promising opportunity of being in such school where feeding is provided. In addition, he is having the opportunity to learn when there was no way to attend school in the past.

Like other 3,000+ beneficiaries in South Sudan, he says the feeding under school meals program has given him a huge life impact and that he is has improved since joining the program at this sponsored school.

In the first nine months of this year we have provided an estimated 403,320 meals impacting 3,162 vulnerable children in South Sudan. The scale of this initiative has grown by nearly 2x when compared to 2020 when we served an estimated 209,680 meals to 2,113 vulnerable children.

In cooperation with multiple partners (Kids for the Kingdom & Christ Mission to the World), together we have invested in these school sites with additional infrastructure over the last 12-months by investing $126,200 during this time for water, kitchens, storerooms, and latrines. We are thankful for these partners that make this work possible. Working together more children will receive meals, with larger portions, and the Kingdom of God will continue to advance in South Sudan!

We also serve 102 orphaned children in South Sudan through our home-based care initiative. Care distribution is handled by Christ Mission to the World via their Lighthouse Orphanage location in Aweil.
