This project, House of Hope Orphanage (HOHO) began development in 2010 with the first child moving to the site in June 2013. We were delayed at this site by Zesco (Zambian power company) for approximately 12-months and then again by 12-months due to search for qualified housemom.
The 2nd home at HOHO was finished in 2015 and we currently host 10-children in the 1st home. Momma Lizzy cares for these 10-children. With the addition of the 2nd home, we now have the capacity for 24 children.
HOHO is located in Sinazongwe which is a fishing community located on Lake Kariba. As of this writing, Lake Kariba is far below its normal levels due to draught which is also affecting the community in a negative way.
We can see opportunity for orphaned children staying at HOHO to benefit from visitors that will invest in their community. These visitors can provide funding, education tutoring, and encourage the local people. In addition, this property is far enough away that lodging is often time required even for a short visit.
This community center will provide lodging options for visitors, meeting space for the community, and additional living space for the children.
Zambia is a country of nearly 14 million people with an orphan population of approximately 1.4 million. Many of these children remain with extended family and most of these extended families have biological children as well. Ultimately, when resources don’t allow for food, clothing, and education as needed, these orphan children are last in line not having the same rights as the other children. Our homes at this site are small and there are limited lodging options nearby.
Lubuto Mission in Zambia – Global Orphan Relief has invested over $275,000 in developing House of Faith Orphanage in Silembe, Zambia, the House of Hope in Sinazongwe, Zambia, and several other related projects. In addition, with the help of our child sponsors and other partners we have provided $250,000 to fund orphan care. HOFO is now home of 49 children and HOHO hosts 10 children. For more information, visit www.globalorphanrelief.org/community-center.

Community Center — Zambia
The primary objective is to provide all of God’s love that can be given through a “home and family” to a homeless orphan child. We acknowledge our utter dependence upon the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish this objective. More often than not, the Holy Spirit uses someone just like you to provide for those needs.
