On Valentines Day 2005, my wife Despina was put on bed-rest as we were expecting our fourth child. Despina was desperate to do anything that might help save our unborn child.
I soon began to work from home, trying to maintain my business while doing my best to manage the other children of our clan. Between this time and the birth of Faith some 3 months later, Despina I spent more time praying than any other time in our lives.
We had no idea of the journey that God was preparing us for, or the pain that He would bring us through. So much has changed since we experienced Faith. Things that were so important at the time no longer really matter, and things that were not even considered are now forefront in my mind.
I have been to Democratic Republic of Congo, Mexico, and Zambia since 2005 in an effort to help children I don’t even know. Children that I have not even met are now priorities for me, and the ones that I have been blessed to meet I think about every day.
God has amazed me, but will amaze me and you even more as we set-out to accomplish things that we can now only imagine today. Yes, we have made a difference to a select few, but I am more compelled by things we have yet to do; by the children we have yet to serve. All for the sake of love -these things we do are not only for the here and now, but have eternal implications.
Children like Marcos, Sergio, Alfredo, Katrina, Justine, Olivia, Natasha, and so many others are so precious in His sight, and each uniquely designed for His purpose. Some say that I am a romantic because I so believe in happy endings. There are still more of you that are part of this movement that I have yet to meet during this journey, but you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I trust that you will somehow become involved in our mission to serve His children -the Orphans.
